Camp...Day 3

The beach is so quiet and still in the morning. It is an ideal environment to meet God in the midst of the glory of His creation! This is why we begin each day with Quiet Times. Today the students worked independently through concepts of Salvation and Giving.

The Morning Worship theme was led by Brad and Andrew as the focus turned to Giving. This was followed by Bible Study within Family Groups. Brad challenged the students today to make a sacrifice and to give. It was not the size of the gift that would be given, but the heart of the giver that mattered. Each student was encouraged to sacrifice buying an extra soda, dessert, souvenir, and other various things to give a small amount to Lifepoint Church. Our group was able to take an offering of $500.22 to help continue reaching people at the brand new Lifepoint Church in Washington, PA.

At Recreation today, there was more intense competition as we put together a softball tourney. The championship game was a tight victory going 2 extra innings. Today’s winning team included: Caleb, Marcus, Jake, Bryce, Jonathan, Holly, Laura Beth, Mollie Ann, Breann, Taylor, Jordan, Casey, and Monica. All our respect to the winners!

Kids played in the beach and the pools again today. The jelly fish were not quite as bad, but still playful. The waves were also a little bigger, which made beach time much more fun. There several of the students who skimmed board at the shore line. The were some great moves...and even better wipeouts!

Following Recreation, each Family Group had Prayer Gatherings. Of course, next was dinner and then Evening Worship. Aaron and Andrew wonderfully led in worship. The heart of tonight was Baptism. We discussed the myths of baptisms. Following the Evening Worship and Bible Study, we made a schedule adjustment and our group went to a local souvenir shop. The kids were able to pick up a memory from the trip and something for their friends.

Brad was able to make it to more condos at lunch and late into the night for one on ones with the students. The students have asked deep questions and have shared compassionate prayer concerns. Well, there is just one more official day of camp. We are going to make the most of it!
