Well, the fourth day of camp is complete. It was another great day. The scenario was very similar to the last couple of days beginning with Quiet Times and Morning Worship. This morning was our last official service. Our focus today was on the Bible. Aaron and Andrew wrapped up our theme with power, creativity, and truth. The students then went to Bible Study to discuss the book they had been looking at all week.
After lunch our group gathered on the beach for a very special event. We were able to baptize four students who had a sincere desire to make their faith known! All respect to Breann, Brittany, Bryce, and Collin for making that next step. It was exciting for the students to make a marker of faith in the Gulf. Our students and many onlookers were there. The waves were a little choppy, which made things a little more interesting. God even kept the jelly fish away! There were a few people who asked our group questions about what we were doing. What a great testimony!
The students then hit the beach and pool one last time. They were able to free play. We did not do any organized recreation today. Following play time, our group gathered together and went to a place called the Crab Trap on the Alabama and Florida statelines. Our kids were great and enjoyed sharing another meal together.
After dinner, we gathered for group shots on the beach in our t-shirts. We took large group and Family Group pics. Our Family Group leaders did so much this week. Lori, Holly, Leann, Melinda, Robbie, Katie, Tim, and Jason interacted so well with the kids. They drove to pick-up food, cook it, and clean up afterwards. They participated in worship and led in Bible study. They competed in recreation. They picked up the slack and cared for kids. So much thanks to share.
Aaron and Andrew also took off to Pensacola to catch a flight to Pittsburgh. They did so good with the students. The kids fell in love with them throughout the week. These guys not only led worship in an awesome way, they went above and beyond. If we ate, they were there loving on kids. If we played games, they were in the middle of it. If we were anywhere in between, they were there. They welcomed a groups of students in their condos and poured into the Middle Schoolers this week. Thanks so much to them for helping kids build a foundation!
Finally, we came back together for a "Week End Review." We looked back over the highpoints of building a foundation. The students then began cleaning their rooms and packing. It won't be long until we are on the road. Even though our driver makes overnights all the time, pray that God would keep him sharp and alert.
