Sunday Night...Breakdown

Just a reminder, there will be no Grow U this Sunday, September 30th. Any student who normally attends Grow U and will be on campus can come to the Gym to hang out at this time.

Then at 6 pm the Amazing Race will begin. The teams will be formed and unleashed on the city of Benton. It will be a race against time and each other. It is also a race with a camera. The real question is..."Can you get a picture of...?" It will be a fun!

There are great prizes for the winning team. We will wrap-up around 8:30 pm. Thanks now to the parents who will be our team leaders for the event!

Hoops of Hopes...Promo

The Hoops of Hope promotional material is now available. This is an event that will offer our students the opportunity to give back. The students who participate will commit to shooting 500 free throws on Sunday, November 18th. The great thing is that they do not have to make 500 free throws...just attempt to put it in the hoop.

In the mean time, the participants will be taking pledges from family, friends, and neighbors for their 500 free throws. All money raised will be passed onto Hoops of Hope and World Vision, which are two organizations helping children who have been orphaned by aids. The student who raises the most in the effort will be recognized.

Sign-ups begin now. You must simply fill out our form and submit $5.00. The fee is simply a donation of commitment that will go to our cause. The deadline to sign-up is on Sunday, October 21st. The sooner you sign-up, the sooner you can make your way to becoming our top fundraiser.

Small Groups...Care

Our Small Groups happen each Sunday Morning in the Gym from 9:15 am - 10:15 am. It has been a great move expanding the number of our Small Groups! Each student is experiencing more attention and more care from our Middle School Ministry Volunteers. The groups now range from 4-10 students instead of 12-20 students. This has certainly been a move to healthier ministry.

This program helps to make the Middle School Ministry much smaller. Our students cannot hide in the group and risk becoming a number. The kids are personally known by godly men and women within our church. Each week our Small Groups talk, pray, and open up the truths of God's Word together.

Our Small Groups are totally open to any 6th and 7th grader. Each group is specifically broken down by age and gender. There is a group for everyone!

Yields from the Investment...

The results are in...what did those Middle Schoolers do with their dollars? Each student was given a dollar to go and to invest it into someone else. Last night, each student wrote on a slip of paper their name, grade, and what they did with their dollar. Here are just a few of many...

-Gave it to a kid without lunch money.
-Donated it to the C John Hunger Hike.
-Bought a candy bar for my mom.
-Bought school supplies for the Middle School Ministry giving project.
-Donated it to the Elf Club at school.
-Donated it to the soldier's funeral fund from Glen Rose at Summit Bank.
-Gave it to the Care Center.
-Bought my mom a coke.
-Helped my little brother buy a toy.
-Bought my mom something at Sonic.
-Gave it to my sister.
-Bought dog food for the Animal Shelter.
-Bought my friend a gift.
-Gave it to a friend.
-Saved it to support a Compassion International Child.
-Gave it to a guy picking up cans on the side of the road.
-Gave it to a guy on my dad's team.
-Tipped a waitress.
-Gave it to a woman at a gas station.
-Bought shower gel and gave it to my cousin.

Common Ground...Week 2

Last week was a record setting night for the Middle School Ministry. There were more 6th & 7th graders in attendance than ever before!

We opened a three-week series with a look into Stewardship. God owns it all...you and I are simply stewards. God is letting us borrow five very crucial things...Relationships, Possessions, Talents, Body, and Time. God is trusting us to make a difference in the world through these elements. Each student was given a $1.00 to go and invest into someone else. It will be interesting to hear how creative the Middle Schoolers were in their efforts.

This week the anticipation is larger than ever! Our study this go around will focus on Satisfaction. In other words, being content with the life God is sharing with us. Hope to see Middle Schoolers pouring into the Gym!

Grow U...Begins September 9th

Grow U is going to begin this coming Sunday night. It will all go down in the Upper Room from 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm. Grow U is our brand new program targeting students who want to take their faith to the next level.

Each week will mix Scripture memory, leadership, and ministry together. This will be our smallest program in number, but certainly not in effectiveness and heart. Come and check it out this weekend!

Common Ground...Begins

This week Common Ground will officially begin and our Middle School Ministry is going to rock the house! Common Ground is our midweek meeting just for 6th and 7th graders. This program is exactly one year old. Since Common Ground was launched, the Middle School Ministry attendance has tripled on Wednesday evenings.

This year our ministry is anticipating so many of God's blessings. Each week will be filled with recreation, worship, teaching, and more. There is something for everyone. This is the front door of our ministry. It all begins on Wednesday, September 5th from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there!
