Christmas Blitz Report

We had a chaotic, yet great Christmas Blitz! There were lots of kids, food, noise, and gifts. The night kicked off with everyone gathering together to eat. After dinner, we did a massive gift exchange. We had four different groups trading random gifts. During this time, each kid also had a chance to guess how much candy might be in three different jars. Jar #1 had 316 Jelly Beans and the closest guess was 317. Jar #2 had 777 Skittles. The closest guess was 780. Finally, Jar #3 has 828 M & Ms. The closest guess was 808. The winners, of course, got the candy!

Not only are our kids smart...they are also very generous. We had around 300 gifts brought that will be delivered to the Dorcas House. The night ended with a little music and a devotional on the true meaning of Christmas. Each student present was also given a gift to take home. It was a 31-day devotional book geared just for Middle Schoolers. Here are a few random pics from the night.

All gifts to the Dorcas House need to be turned in ASAP. Remember, each gift must be wrapped and labeled. Thanks for loving people!

Why? Celebrate the Birth of Jesus!

We need a few more people to help with our Sharing Project. Our Middle School Ministry will once again be providing Christmas gifts to the residents of the Dorcas House. We had a bunch of last minute add ons. Please contact us if you would like to sponsor.

Middle School Ministry Memorials

If you would like to give an extra gift as the end of the year approaches, our Middle School Ministry has a Memorials Account. These donations roll over annually, which helps us to reach Middle Schoolers over a longer span of time.

If you would like to give, simply note “Middle School Ministry Memorials” on the memo of your check and/or offering envelope. These gifts are given with the understanding that FBC will exercise complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds and will use them for the furtherance of the Middle School Ministries while honoring fully the designation of you, as the donor, in accordance with tax-exempt laws and expectations.

Last Common Ground of 2008

This Wednesday, December 10, will be the last Common Ground of 2008. Common Ground is just 2 1/2 years old. During this time, God has grown our Wednesday evening attendance by four times.

Let's finish the year strong! Hope to see lots of 6/7 graders in attendance.

Christmas Blitz

The Middle School Ministry Christmas Party is just around the corner! It is happening on Wednesday, December 17 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. The night will begin in the Gym as normal and then wrap-up in the Fellowship Hall.

There are no sign-ups, just show up! The Christmas Blitz is basically free, but there are a few things that students need to do to make it the best that it can be...

Be sure to bring a small gift costing no more than $5.00. It can be most anything, just make sure it is wrapped. We will be doing a massive gift exchange!

Next, we cannot forget to bring our gifts to the women and the children of the Dorcas House. We will be celebrating God by sharing with others. Remember, a student does not have to bring gifts to be a part of the Christmas Blitz!

Finally, all students are encouraged be there and bring friends along! We will be eating, playing games, sharing gifts, and bringing in the Holidays together. We almost forgot, the Middle School Ministry has a very special gift for all students in attendance. Come see what it could be! Don't miss it!
