We will begin a new two week series in Common Ground entitled "The Cross." The next two Wednesdays will be an incredible prequel to Easter. People wear a cross on necklaces, sport one on bumper stickers and even slap on across T-shirts, but what does the cross really stand for? What does it really mean? Over the next two weeks, we will take a look at the cross in a different way, a way that moves beyond gratitude and nostalgia to a way of life. The cross teaches us that we live so we can die, and we die so we can live.

Dodge City Wrap-Up
The 4th annual Dodge City is in the books! This year's event functioned differently than the previous 3 years. Over the past 3 years it has been a 6-12 grade event. This year it still was, but with two different venues.
In an attempt to reach more 6/7 graders, the Middle School Ministry went solo at the FBC Gym. It worked! God blessed us with more 6/7 grade students present and participating in this event than ever before.
It was a quick paced double elimination tourney with over 35 games played! The Best Uniform Award went to Beauty and the Geeks. The 2nd Place Prize went to the Black-Eyed Road Runners. The 1st Place...Champion Prize went to Impact. Impact did not lose one single game in the entire tournament. As champions they were privileged to play a team of our volunteers and swept the 3 game series.
A special thanks goes to all those who helped make Dodge City happen.

Dodge City Pictures
Here are a few pics from Dodge City. Not every team had their picture taken, thus all the participants are not posted. There are also team members missing from a couple of shots. Hopefully, a small part of the night is captured for you...

It is almost here! Dodge City will happen this Wednesday beginning at 6 pm at the FBC Gym. Don't forget to bring a little admission and concession money along with you. Most importantly bring a few friends to hang-out and to watch. It is going to be a great time as teams compete for either 1st, 2nd, or Best Uniform. You don't want to miss it. See you there!

Angry #3
This week, students will review the first two lessons from the Angry series. Then everyone will break into groups and facilitate a brainstorming session to find a problem in the world that specifically angers them. Once a group has decided on something that really resonates with each other, they will think of a way to meet that need or fix that problem. This is essentially a step to encourage kids to look for ways to be a part of something bigger.

The summer schedule has been tweaked a bit, but it is now official! The summer will be closer to home and the costs will be cut significantly. All kids are invited to participate during these two major events even if they have to come late or leave early. Here is the summer for the FBC Middle School Ministry…
