Missions 101...Final Day

Today was our final day of Missions 101. This morning went as normal until we rolled into the Dorcas House. The entire facility was on lockdown. A resident in the Dorcas House had received a very serious death threat from her husband. Her husband had also burned down her house just hours before we arrived. This all meant that our team could not be on the campus today to wrap up our projects.

From this point, we called down to the Compassion Center. The Compassion Center was our Missions 101 site last summer. They invited us to come back over and work for the day. At the Compassion Center, our students encountered homeless men and women with very intense struggles.

A group washed dishes, cleaned, prepared lunch, and served plates to roughly 200 homeless people. Another group sorted school supplies, weeded flower beds, cleaned the chapel, and picked up trash. It was a great experience and look into another facet of inner-city ministry.

Overall, it was an incredible trip! Thanks to the Middle Schoolers! You did an awesome job! You worked very hard. Thank-you to our leaders: Matt, Jessica, and Katie for loving on students this weekend by empowering them to serve.
