Christmas Projects

Many of you know that our Missions 101 site was at the Dorcas House. The Dorcas House is a shelter for battered women and children. This year the Middle School Ministry is taking over the task of providing Christmas to the entire shelter. We have about 18 kids and 16 women we will be helping. We will be handing out names to students to sponsor. This will involve purchasing: a clothing item, toy item, and gift for a lady. This does not have to be expensive at all. Be sure you bring them wrapped and labeled to the Christmas Party on December 12th. The gift for a lady does not have to be labeled. If you cannot attend the Christmas Party, please drop it off beforehand.

Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving Holiday is upon us. There will be no Common Ground tonight or Grow U on Sunday. We will have Small Groups as normal with morning and evening worship this Sunday.

Have a great holiday! Eat, sleep, relax, hunt, shop, spend time with family, and thank God for the gifts He shares with us.

Hoops of Hope Report

We had a great and tiring event last Sunday Night with Hoops of Hope. There were around 5,000 free throws shot in out little gym over a span of 3 hours. There were probaly a few sore students yesterday morning. The amazing part is that there were around 2,100 actually made. We had a 6th grade boy hit 326/500, which is really, really good.

Because of the efforts of a few Middle Schoolers, we will be sending $800.00 to help children who have been orphaned by aids. Thanks to our shooters and counters at the event. It was better because of you.

Our Mission

Just a reminder of who we are and what our Middle School Ministry is all about... "Our mission is to create a place where Middle School Students can come laugh with friends, come learn about the Bible, come link with caring adults, come love God more, and come live to continue the movement that Jesus began."

Everything that we do filters through this mission. Each time that a Middle Schooler attends one of our programs or events they will have the opportunity to either "come laugh, come learn, come link, come love, and come live."

Hoops of Hope...Sunday Night

If you are signed up for Hoops of Hope, find friends, neighbors, family members, businesses, and various others to sponsor you. Share with people that you will be shooting 500 free throws to raise support for children in Africa who have been orphaned by aids. They can give you cash or check for any amount they would like. The donation is tax deductible, so they have the option to receive a receipt from Hoops of Hope.

If you need more pledge forms let me know. Also, your friends can jump in anytime and participate. The $5.00 registration fee that you paid will go towards your overall pledges. We will recognize the top fundraiser from our Hoops of Hope event.

Our Hoops of Hope event will take place on this Sunday, November 18th, at 5:30 pm in the FBC Gym. Be sure to wear gym clothes. We have basketballs, but you are welcome to bring your own. Also, be sure to bring all your pledges to the night of the event! God will honor what you are doing!

Great Middle School Mash!

We had a great Middle School Mash last night. The Gym, Parking Lot, and Fellowship Hall were filled with 6th and 7th graders. Kids played ball, bounced in inflatables, roasted marshmallows, took hayrides, shared meals, won prizes, and saw the reality of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

It was a night that marked more Middle Schoolers being on campus than ever before in the history of FBC. Thanks to our loving men and women who served by: bringing resources, hanging out with students, and cleaning up afterwards. It was a better night because of you!
