Our group safely arrived to Shepherd of the Ozarks. We loaded up and rolled out of FBC around 11:00 AM. We stopped off in Conway for lunch and pulled into Shepherd of the Ozarks at 3:00 PM. Our group had a great charter bus! Once we arrived there was a time of orientation discussing rules, safety, and the great stuff on the schedule. We then checked into the Big Creek Lodge. The boys got the top of the lodge and the girls got the bottom. The middle is common space where we hang-out, snack, and gather for worship.
From there we hit the ground running and jumped into our first worship gathering. We sang and explored what is means to hang out with God. After worship, everyone broke into Family Groups to discuss the topic. There are 6 Family Groups marked by colors: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, and Orange. After Family Groups, we went over to the Buffalo Lodge for a fantastic dinner. After dinner, students had some free time. Some played whiffle ball, basketball, frisbee golf, volleyball, and visited the petting zoo. It was a beautiful day!
Then, we went into our next worship gathering. There is something special about seeing and hearing middle school students engaged in worship. Our message covered accountability. The students took accountability to the next level in their Family Groups. The night ended with an activity that we call Late Nite. Everyone went out onto our large deck, played games, laughed, and made some noise to finish out the evening. The Green and Yellow Groups were the winners of Late Nite
Pray that God will bless. More posts and some pictures to come!
